I got rejected for my first passport by an Indian gentleman. He wasn't happy with the profession of the person who witnessed my signature on the back of the photo.
When I renewed it 10 years later it came back with some-one else's date of birth on it.
I had to renew my driving license when I returned to UK. They lost it!

"Ooooohhhh I just CANT WAIT for Armageddon!"
by TimothyT inin my congregation i could name at least 10 brothers, and likely more, who just couldnt wait for armageddon to come.
the way they spoke about it clearly showed that they were just so excited.
you could just see their eyes light up at the prospect of the wicked being destroyed and removed from this earth.

I looked forward to Armageddon because it meant the pain of my life would stop. Either in death or because God was going to make it better. I didn't even really care which way it went either. I just wanted some-one to stop the pain.
I never truly believed there was going to be a mass killing of innocents, just the rapists, murderers and those who would terrorise and torture others. Plus people who were just plain nasty like my own non JW parents. No way did they deserve to live in Paradise after the way they have treated me.
It was a conversation I had with myself often but other dubs always told me to leave it in Jehovah's hands.
I reasoned that some really wicked people from history could be resurrected because "the wages sin pays is death" and along with the ransom, as long as they submitted to Christ's rule they would live forever. This seemed reasonable to me, but only as long as my non JW parents did NOT die before the big A. I think I was looking forward to God killing them. Now it is time will do the job as they are in their 80s. (Last I heard Mother was incontinent and dribbling after a stroke but not expected to die. Suffer bitch!)
But if really nice kind people who had not converted to JW were living at the time of Armageddon they would die? This I reasoned in my head would not happen as it was not fair that it was your date of birth in history that determined whether you got a second chance or not.
An all loving, powerful creater would never do anything "unfair", would he?

*** w64 10/1 pp. 588-589 pars. 21-23 The Bible and Creation in the Light of Modern Science ***
22 As the lower animals were created suddenly, so was man. He was given a high mental capacity that the animals lacked. This is just what science corroborates, and not a slow ascent from a mud puddle. In the book New Discoveries in Babylonia About Genesis the author states: “It was expected that the more ancient the period, the more primitive would excavators find it to be, until traces of civilization ceased altogether and aboriginal man appeared. Neither in Babylonia nor Egypt, the lands of the oldest known habitations of man, has this been the case. When civilization appears it is already full grown. . . . In the face of these facts, the slow progress of early man is a disproved assumption, and the idea that an infinitely prolonged period elapsed before civilization appeared cannot be maintained.”
23 But what of those so-called “prehistoric” men one frequently hears about? Some of such fossil remains are not human at all, but are animal. Others are simply varieties of the human family who were living at the same time “modern-type” man was, just as today there are many sizes and shapes in different living peoples. The Neanderthal man was at one time regarded as “prehistoric,” an ancestor of modern man in the evolution scale, but note what an encyclopedia now says: “Neanderthal man cannot be regarded as an ancestor of modern man. Neanderthal man and men of the modern type . . . must be looked upon as descendants of a common ancestor.”
I'm still not sure if they believe neanderthal man is us or not!

Quite a lot if you have a Watchtower CD rom.
After I stopped loling at the ridiculousness of their explanation of neanderthal man I think that showing the Charities Commission the quality of education the Witnesses are engaged in should be enough to have their charitable status revoked with immediate effect!

Steven Unthank: What do we really know?
by SweetBabyCheezits ini'm gonna play the skeptic today on a topic that is painful for a lot of people on this forum.
my intent is not to stir anything up but to make sure facts are confirmed.
bear in mind, i'm sickened by the wt's role (and the heirarchy down to elders) in child molestation cover-ups.

Can anyone prove that birthday celebrations are forbidden by God?
by FaithfulBrother ini know that there is no mention of any birthday celebrations in the bible besides the two which were celebrated by non-believers.
and it just so happened that on each of these events, someone died (one non-believer and one believer).
but does it mean that just because the bible mentions these two events, that all birthday celebrations are forbidden?

I can't prove that birthday celebrations are forbidden by god but this threw new light on the matter for me.
Book of Job Chapter One verse 1 There happened to be a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man proved to be blameless and upright, and fearing God and turning aside from bad. 2 And seven sons and three daughters came to be born to him. 3 And his livestock got to be seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels and five hundred spans of cattle and five hundred she-asses, along with a very large body of servants; and that man came to be the greatest of all the Orientals.
4 And his sons went and held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day; and they sent and invited their three sisters to eat and drink with them
This sounds to me like a Birthday Party!
